A will states: "monies to be split equally between Sally, Tom and Dick." The
probate court states that there are two entities: Sally, Tom and Dick.
Therfore, the money is split 50/50: Sally 50%, Tom and Dick 50% (equaling
25%).
If it had been stated: "monies to be split equally between Sally, Tom, and
Dick" the probate court would have distributed the funds 33.33% each, as all
are expressed as single entities.
Since the document was a will in probate, the author was not available to
clarify the intent.
