I think most of us are already are trained to do this, it's just
that we prioritize. It just depends on how critical the
situation is to you.
For most of us, reading a techwr-l post is a fairly non-critical
activity. It's very easy for the brain to say, "OK, Air Moving
Device = computer fan. Next post!!"
But if you are the system administrator of a large box that just
arrived from IBM, and you open up the manual and see a reference
to an AMD, before too long you will probably know exactly what
an AMD is.
