JOB: Flash whiz needed to build demo (marcom)--Eastern Massachusetts

C'mon all you unemployed/underemployed techwrlers. Show me whatcha got.
(No agencies, please.)

I need a Flash guru/writer/designer--soon--to develop a software demo for
our Web site. This is a marketing piece, not a training demo, for
enterprise software (there's that word again). You need to convey abstract
concepts in a compelling and graphically appealing way to an audience of
senior business executives, engineers, consultants, and analysts. This is
a short-term assignment (up to 4 weeks) in Concord, Massachusetts; and you
will work on-site (equipment/software provided) most or all of the time.
Send résumé (PDF, Word, or plain text), along with your rates and links to
samples of your Flash work, to Dick Margulis (margulis -at- fiam -dot- net).

STORY: SnagIt and Camtasia Studio

Dan the technical writer moved swiftly through the hall, pausing from time
to time to peer into his coworker's cubicles. He was ready to eat lunch,
but wanted someone to go with him.

He peeked into Laura's office and was surprised when she emitted a cry of
joy. Just when he was about to feel flattered, he realized that he didn't
cause her excitement - in fact, she didn't even see him, because she was
fixated on her screen.

Curious, he watched her work. He held his breath as he saw her use SnagIt
- the leading screen capture software - to capture an image of a menu and
paste it into her document. He then saw her open TechSmith's Camtasia
Studio.

Camtasia Studio, he knew, allowed you to record anything that appears on
your screen. You can add audio, edit the existing audio and video, and
produce the movie in a variety of file formats, including Macromedia
Flash.

Dan's mind raced. Laura uses SnagIt AND Camtasia Studio? He watched
quietly as she recorded a video with Camtasia Studio. She even narrated
it as she recorded. When she played the perfect-quality video back, Dan
could hardly contain himself.

"Laura!" he said heartily. "I was just coming by to see if you wanted to
have lunch. However, now that I see that you use SnagIt and Camtasia
Studio, I was wondering if you'd allow me to buy you lunch. I'd love to
talk about how you're using TechSmith's products for your technical
writing needs."

Laura, seemingly undisturbed by Dan's snoopiness, readily accepted. She
teased, "And they say there's no such thing as a free lunch."

"But there are such things as free technical support and free software
updates," Dan said. "When you SNAG all of technology's capabilities,
you're FREE to EVALUATE the STUDIO of the world. So let's FREE ourselves
of this office and CAPTURE some lunch."

Laura gaped. She was clearly in the presence of a master.
