OK...lemme explain..
Once you have a database of abstracts, you'll have to make it available to
the users. How do you want to do this? 

Dump it all on a machine and ask the users to access the folders? 
I was suggesting that you create an HTML page with a TOC and a search
facility to enable the users easily navigate and retrieve the info they are
looking for. 

To have a search page on the User Interface (UI), you'll have to index the
pages. Indexing creates a set of keywords that the users can search for.

Make sense?
