The number is not statistically insignificant. A large number of people use Word for publishing large documents when they should be using a proper desktop publishing tool. I have to deal with this problem all the time in my work as a proposal manager.

Word is fine for uncomplicated word processing. When it comes to any kind of serious publishing, especially those with many chapters or lots of graphics, Word is a very poor choice.
