Actually, try doing a search on "metrics" and see if you come up with
anything.
I've seen a number of different ways of guesstimating projects - from a
simple one of documentation effort = 20% of raw development effort, to
more complex methods that consider update vs. new material, number of
new/changed windows, complexity of topic, availability of resource
information (spec and SME). I've seen statements like "an experienced TW
can churn out 2-5 pages per day, depending ..."
Ultimately, you can use whatever metrics you want, in order to determine
an estimate, but then you ultimately have to go with your gut and decide
if your estimate "feels" right.
