Good! Just responding to ads is not enough if you want to keep employed. Marketing and networking are much more useful. You often make someone decide it's time to get that project they've been mulling over underway, and you're not in competition with a couple of hundred other people.

Of course, these techniques don't come easy to introverts, but they seriously improve your chances of work.
