I didn't know my colleague was holding down two jobs!!
Look at this sample of the opening Help topic for a function on the
Tools menu that performs two tasks: creating users with different access
levels, and assigning clients to users.
"Welcome to the Security Administration Tool help system. In order to
more conveniently administer certain database security measures to
member firms, the Security Administration tool was created. The Security
Administration Tool allows certain users to assign rights and permission
levels to employees for the editing of clients and participants within
the MIDAS application. This Help system, specifically designed for this
tool, can help guide you through the adding and editing of users, and
the assigning of their permission levels."
Isn't that just what you want to read when you are in a tool and don't
understand the screen so you click 'Help'?
Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat in that he thinks his writing is
splendid. And we are peers, and there are no other writers/editors in
the IT department. So I try to carve out my own projects and avoid joint
projects.
