I don't know what solutions you are aware of and referred to in your message, but the UnicodeBookmarks function in my Bookmark Controller will map characters in the different languages so that the bookmark text is presented correctly. (Of course, the UnicodeBookmarks functions is only one of many you will able to use when you purchase the Bookmark Controller).

The UnicodeBookmarks function is completely automatic and takes place transparently as part of the distilling process . It relies on user-configurable conversion tables which must be prepared once. Tables are available for some languages and help with new tables is provided free of charge.

The Bookmark Controller costs $100 per license when purchased separately; the TimeSavers add-on, which includes the Bookmark Controller and many other functions currently costs $160 (price will be updated on May 15 to $200/license).
