<snip> So I now have a mailbox full
of résumés that have come in over the last months that were never,
repeat _never_ acknowledged by anyone.
Dick,
Over the last 2-3 years I can't count how many times I've sent a resume
in response to a posting and never, ever received an acknowledgement.
Yes, in a perfectly polite society the acknowledgement is preferred, but
that just doesn't happen these days.
If it really bothers you that these folks were not acknowledged, then go
for it. Otherwise, chalk it up as a sign of the times.
BTW, if the previous recipient left, to whom did the resumes go? How
could anyone have been hired unless they came in via smail or a
recruiter?
