Run away! Just run away. I know two people on the
planet who have used Master Documents without
problems, and while I trust and admire them both,
they're definitly the excception.
Masters work, as far as I can see, only if you are
*very* organized *from the beginning* and never vary
from your original plan. If you're not up to that
challenge (and I'm not) simply use a separate file for
each chapter, and use RD fields to generate TOC and
Index.
Nothing I've heard about Word 2002 indicates that
Master Documents work any different now than ever.
