My Degree is in "Professional Writing," which is supposed to cover all genres, from Journalism to Tech Writing. I first wrote for a Travel Mag, getting paid more for the ads I sold than the articles I wrote. I also did some stringer work for the local newspaper covering local High School football games. Thought it was fun at first but quickly figured out that I was getting paid the equivalent of five dollars an hour. I then got into Tech Writing and, it was definitely the best way to get a regular paycheck for writing.
The only way I can think that would be better is to write a best-seller or a screenplay that gets made into a movie.
