Using your favourite search engine, have a look for "Rick Mercer" and
"Talking to Americans".

Chances are, the Canadian members of the list are chuckling at the thought
of Prime Minister Tim Horton.

So are the Americans who know who Tim Horton was. Considering he's been dead for about thirty-one years now, he might be a bit of a stiff in office. But he might be popular with Torontonians nevertheless.

(Tim Horton was an NHL hockey player in the sixties and early seventies. He played for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres. He also started a donut franchise that still exists in Canada and parts of the US. [Not sure about the Canadian franchises, the US ones are now owned by Wendy's.] He died in an accident on the Queen Elizabeth Way while heading home after playing in a Buffalo-Toronto game one winter night back in, I think, 1972.)

I'm waiting to hear one like whether Laura Secord should be allowed to be a member of Augusta National Golf Club. That should show a deficiency in current events and history.
