Which makes it no less valid than this list. Membership here is determined on
the judgment of one (Eric Ray). Here, strawmen arguments and stirring the pot
with emotionally charged rhetoric and innuendo, and painting every argument with
either black and white is accepted. John doesn't want that behaviour on his
list.
So be it. After all, argument style neither proves nor disproves objectivity. Or
is anyone going to be foolish enough to step forward and take claim to being the
objective voice of Techwr-L?
If someone wants to be on the other list and John won't let them, they need only
convince him they can follow the rules. If they can't convince him, they can try
and discuss the issue in a calm reasoned manner on Techwr-L (best of luck, look
at the archives how the last "discussion" went).
If you don't want to be on the list, then their opinion is particularly
insignificant and we have to wonder why you're making such a public display of
your displeasure (and the perceived interpretation that John and his group are
treating you personally as scum).
Is it really that galling and difficult to argue intelligently with the only
publicly stated rule being not to change the subject lines to ridiculous
inflammatory ones?
