Hi Amber:

We had excellent relations with the SWEs but, as you know, this does
not mean that they returned their reviews on time.

Since my Doc department tested the heck out of the product, we had
access to the bug reporting system. So we used it as a tickler file
for them.

When we distributed review copies, we put a deadline date on them
(deadlines included a buffer period). We then entered the review as a
bug in the database. This meant that it would appear in their morning
list of things-to-do until we marked it as "fixed."

Since each SWE had to account for any bugs that were assigned to them
at a weekly development meeting, they had more incentive to get the
reviews back to us.

YMMV
