I want to know if there is an easy way to -- [when distilling a document
for draft copy review] -- place a simple text watermark "draft copy" or "not
for publication." My current printer driver is not supporting it. The
printer duplexes and it does do that nicely.

The standard procedure to include a watermark in FrameMaker document is to place a text frame with some appropriate large-type text diagonally on the master pages behind the main text frame(s). The latter, of course, must be transparent.

If you use a variable as the watermark text, you can change it very quickly even with multiple master pages.

(OT: You should not use the HP driver to create PDFs, you should use AdobePS - or LaserWriter on the Mac. However, this won't help you with the watermark issue.)

Regards
Jan Henning
