Um....no. Two separate uses of imaginary numbers. Rereading the way I wrote
it, I can see how you could come to that conclusion, though...so much for MY

I hope your instructor wasn't telling you that CAT scans were used to
discover the DNA double helix. The structure of DNA was identified 20 years
before the development of CAT.
