TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
It's also a bit of an apples-to-oranges comparison, since we were not discussing "concepts" but whether it is better as a pedagogical method to move from the general to the specific or the specific to the general (as far as I can tell, at least).

It's still not possible to "create energy," only to
convert between matter and energy. Einstein's equation
is a perfect example of how dry science can be as a
subject when it's taught out of context. It was obscure
before the bomb, and over half a century later even people
who are technical often get it wrong.
