No, they are the exception, but they are out there. Is this happening
directly to you? Maybe you are just insulated from the fireworks. CEOs
usually wouldn't bother freaking out on a tech writer.
The worst exec behavior I saw was when I was at a bank.
Sometimes a display of anger can be an effective tool, if used with
care. But not if you are just lashing out.
