Janice and Mark,

What accommodation do you have to make in your day-to-day work to the absence of the numeric keypad?

I often tell people that to insert some particular special character, they should hold down the Alt key and type four digits on the numeric keypad. I know that, in most applications, you cannot access the same characters by using the top row of number keys. But clearly you have a workaround. I'd like to know so that I can offer an alternate method for people who are keypad-averse, people who use laptops, and people like you who cannot get to the keypad for some other reason.

Do you have to set up shortcut keys in applications? Do you use the Character Map utility? Or do you have some other trick?

Thanks,

Dick
