I think the argument should actually be that your company
needs a tech pubs dept - run your way, of course - to
ensure that the attitude its product's docs presents to
its customers is better than the one Adobe is presenting
to you. Just because Adobe's got the pubs world by the
you-know-whats is no reason to hold them up as examples
of good product documentation practices.
