OK, I don't have time to figure it out right now, but will Word let you
do what you want with a formula field? Basically, starting on page three
you want ((PAGE)+1)/2. Therefore, page 3 would appear as 2, page 5 would
appear as 3, etc.
Does anyone out there know if that's possible?

Ack. This is an existing document I'm reworking. I was hoping for a
"quick" way to avoid numbering the pages manually. I'll keep that in
mind if the situation ever crops up again, though.
