"Is it uncommon for someone to step into a leadership
role and opt to hire people he/she knows to be good at
what they do? Is it uncommon to bring in skilled labor
from other parts of the world to put their expertise
to good use?"
"Is it acceptable to think that a three-foreigner
increase in your company is symptomatic of a problem?"
No, it is not uncommon for these things to happen and no, I am not paranoid. This is also definitely not based on prejudice. This is a foreign-owned company and the majority of the people here are from places other than the U.S.
The point is...these skilled workers can be found all over this area (go to an STC meeting someday). They are not advertising or searching for skilled workers in the local area...just going right over and taking them from the other company. Is that fair? Is that legal?
