Yes and no.

It *will* open *some* doors for *qualified* writers,
and will most-likely promote *longevity* in those
positions.

will - most-likely; is already to some degree

some - a very small fraction of what the dot-com boom
did. That is, probably 1:100 (biomed:dot-com)

qualified - capable writers with biomed
credentials/experience (most-likely not entry level or
"learn about the industry on the job" candidates)

longevity - longer on-job duration than the dot-com's
offered (thinking 5+ years instead of 5+ months)

Just my perspective on this.
