MySQL is *not* a "baby SQL Server"--or, if it is, please tell Yahoo! that they need to "upsize"!
There are certainly some issues for *some* database users for which MySQL is not appropriate--but to significantly "upsize" it you'd probably want to go to one of the true heavyweights and bypass SQL Server altogether. Not that SQL Server is *bad* necessarily (although notoriously insecure, but then it's a Microsoft product)--it's just not more capable than MySQL in terms of data handling capacity.
Access, on the other hand, simply isn't a very decent platform for much beyond a very light-weight need. FoxPro is indeed extremely good; fortunately, Microsoft hasn't messed with it enough to mess it up--the downside is that it is insufficiently supported.
All things considered, for most people MySQL is among the top choices, especially where speed and price are both considerations.

Access would work for this if you
like. Think of this tool as 'baby SQL Server'.
The same is true for the 'free' MySQL. The syntax is just a bit different
than for SQL Server so if you ever decide to upsize you'll have some rewrite
to do, but not too much.
I hope this helps. Feel free to email me privately if you have any
questions....
