Among other interesting observations, Mark Baker opined:

"The attempt to normalize narrative material, however, can often be instructive. It can reveal all sorts of problems in the content. In some cases it may reveal that the material does not need narrative treatment at all."

This is completely in agreement with my experience--especially when people attempt to apply "use cases" in situations where they are needlessly redundant or obvious.
