Just to add my two cents, I have been inundated with over 400 emails a
day, including Spam. A firewall doesn't help you here people, ours
certainly hasn't helped me. HOWEVER, this exploit is AT LEAST 9 months
old which means you either:
1) Haven't updated your sw patches in the past 6 months
or
2) Clicked on something you shouldn't have
Maybe I misunderstood you, but you seem to imply that the people being inundated with Spam somehow failed to install required patches.
This implication would be incorrect: It is in fact other people's computers that aren't up to date. If your e-mail address is in their address books, you get spammed - regardless of what you do. (Case in point: I couldn't even get the virus if I wanted to - wrong operating system :-) - but I still receive hundreds of the latest virus spam mails.)
