Obviously you weren't here the day when our (misconfigured, badly out of
date, free and worth every penny*) Pegasus e-mail software corrupted its
mailing database and spammed the entire population of techwr-l with a 4-Meg
Pagemaker file I'd sent to a colleague earlier that day. I still wince to
think of it, and bet there are people out there who still haven't forgiven
me.
* In defence of Pegasus, it's reasonably cool software, and this is from a
version many years ago. We just had an administrator who... never mind. You
get the idea.
In any event, you can forget about attachments being sent through techwr-l.
Eric is far too canny for this, having learned from my ignominy, and no
longer lets attachments through.
