Geoff Hart responded to a question from Sara Sue in Canada about scaleability of a website design, by commenting on what to do to cater for people who _shrink_ their browser windows, but I read Sara Sue's question to do with _expanding_ the design to fit the window, for example to fill a full-screen window on a higher-resolution monitor.

In addition to Jean's valuable comments, there is this concern: If the table expands horizontally to fill the monitor screen, you may end up with uncomfortably long lines of text. My preference is to keep the principle text column or columnss a fixed width (in pixels) and let bumper columns expand to fill the page width. These don't need to be content-free, but they should not contain long paragraphs, either. YMMV.
