TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
1. Tech-writers have a high reputation -- in *my* estimation. If you want to
know why other people feel differently, ask them.
2. I didn't attribute anything to "blind prejudice." (Toto, Toto! Watch out
for that straw man!)
3. We are all speaking from personal experience. My own positive impression
of tech writers comes primarily from the posts I read on TECHWR-L,
Techshoret, and Word-PC.

I'd like to think that you are right. However, if you are, why do
tech-writers
in general have such a low reputation among other technology professionals?
Even if you attribute it to blind prejudice, something must have created and
sustained that reputation.
