So, I'm mercenary. I've never tried to pretend that I got into tech writing,
either professionally or academically, because it sounded like fun. Frankly,
I do enjoy the work but I could think of lots of other things (some of which
I had briefly majored in as an undergrad) that are a lot more enjoyable.
