Taking notes doesn't work for me. When I am writing something down, my brain
says "Oh,  he's writing it down, I don't need to absorb this."  The act of
writing distracts me from the act of listening. What's worse, no matter how
good my notes are they never make sense to me later.

My learning style is interactive - I remember information best when I
receive it in response to a question I have asked. This drives trainers
crazy when I am in the class.

I don't know how unique my learning style is, but as a tech writer I
constantly have to remind myself that most people don't learn this way.
