If you're interested, you can get several pieces of free software to produce PDFs. Ghostview/ghostscript gives you complete PDF functionality, if you don't mind working from the command line. OpenOffice.org is another good choice, although the current version doesn't support hyperlinks in PDF (come back in about ten months if that's important). Both are available in Windows versions.
