No, Visio doesn't export -- guess it was intimidated by the TECHWR-L thread
about the evils of exporting and offshoring... :-)
Thanks to all for the on-list and off-list suggestions. In the interim, the
Mac guy and I have found an acceptable workaround, but our goal of sharing
vector from Visio remains elusive.

Is there an Export menu item, rather than Save As?
If not, can you print to Distiller? If so, click the Properties button on
the Print dialog, go to the Advanced tab, and ensure that you are
downloading font outlines to the "printer." Illustrator can open the PDF
directly.
