Converting to pdf was the solution, I suggested a friend, after waiting 2 hours while printing a proof (with complicate corel draw pictures) using a Laserjet 5M printer with postscript.
He immediately knew what I meant. He never thought about this option. He stopped the process (it was 80% ready) and converted the file. This took only 2 minutes. And it was fast to print the result.
From this time on, he always generated pdf files for printing.
