I'm glad that's worked out for you. Not so much for
me. I bought my first Win95 box from a local guy who
was recommended to me by several people. He was an IT
person who build computers on the side.
Long story short, he overclocked a 166Mhz to 200Mhz,
installed the cheesiest of hardware, and charged me
for the good stuff and a 200Mhz processor. When I
called him to resolve it, he wasn't there. Turns out
he was fired and left the area, and didn't tell any of
his clients, who ended up with junk systems just like
mine.
You live and learn.
I now buy direct from Dell. I rarely need support for
these systems, and have a receipt and warranty for
every bolt and wire. I may have to deal with an
overseas support person should I need it, but it beats
no one.
