RE: Career moves? What jobs are technical writers likely to move

In my limited experience I've seen folks move thusly:

* Into TW management 
* Into programming or technical work 
* Into being independent TW contractors
* Into marketing writing

For as many that have moved on, I've also seen about as many folks coming
INTO tech writing from each of these areas.
