Simpler? Really? Never understood that claim. Some changes to make XML were to
make parsing simpler, but as for the rest it's mighty similar.
Considering XML became a buzz word and development of the XML core,
complementary standards, and supporting systems I'd argue it's even more complex
now.
But like you said, that's neither here nor there. ;D
