TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I have a new documentation project: creating interactive color wiring
diagrams from existing b&w hard copy.
I'm pretty much resigned to recreating the diagrams in a package that will
do what I need. I've done similar work in Visio, and I like Visio's ability
to go from graphic to database to graphic, but I could squeak by without
that extra capability.
Since I don't have the software already, I'm wide open to suggestions. My
preference is for something in the shareware or public domain.
Does anyone know of a useful tool? Thanks a big bunch for any suggestions.
