Hello,
I've been searching for information on Wordmarks on the Web but I've come up empty. I hope someone can help out.
My company (specifically the Marketing group) is considering using a wordmark (I hope this is the right term) to name a product feature. The wordmark would be a combination of two words. For example:
RedBlue (this is not the actual feature name)
On top that, "Red" would be italicized and "Blue" would use a normal font.
I'm uncomfortable using a this wordmark in the user documentation for a few reasons:
1. I personally don't like using italics and we don't really use them according to our style guide.
2. Italics don't look good in an online help format (Web, WinHelp, and so on)
3. The "d" in Red looks like it runs into the "B" of Blue when you use a typical font like Times Roman
Has anyone else run into wordmark issues? Any thoughts on this issue?
