I don't know if the "Mozart Effect" is real or not...but over the years, I have found that Baroque music is the only kind I can listen to for many hours without becoming sick of it. It enervates me while of course "detuning" the background stuff. Therefore, I customarily play this music when I must really be occupied with minimal distractions possible.
If it stimulates the gray cells in other ways, that's all the better!
