I always CRUD meant Create/Read/Update/Delete, but recently I learned
something new. When I was working on a J2EE project, the architects kept
referring to the "CRUD interfaces." In the J2EE world, CRUD interfaces
connote the basic data operations, as distinct from derivative interfaces
that perform other business logic. So in a more modular architechture, CRUD
can carry a different connotation. I assume this distinction exists in other
modular architectures as well.
