TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
::: 1) What does single sourcing mean? (in Technical Writing)
Single-Sourcing: using a single document source to generate multiple types
of document outputs; workflows for creating multiple outputs from a document
or database source. (STC Single-Sourcing SIG)
::: 2) What is Interleaf? Its difference over FM and Robohelp?
Interleaf: a document authoring and composition package. It provides an
integrated set of tools for creating compound documents: word processing,
graphics, data-driven business charts, tables, equations, image editing,
automated page layout, book building-including automatic index and TOC,
conditional document assembly. (www.faqs.org/faqs/interleaf-faq)
It's difference from FrameMaker and Robohelp? Well, first of all it's now
called Quicksilver and is produced by Broadvision. Second, it looks like it
no longer exists, in favor of a solutions-based approach. I could be wrong,
but that's what I got from Broadvision's web site.
