Once again your still focussed on the user's perspective. If you have to
calculate PI are you going to code the algorithm from first principles or
a re you going to use the system function? Similarly if you need a complex
financial calculation are you going to code from scratch or use a code
segment known to get good results? Develop your own PS handling or pay
Adobe the royalty and throw in theirs?
>From the users perspective, which will be more successful? Using standard
buttons, and standard menu and window behaviour from the OS or coding your
own from scratch?
Which is the better programmer? The one that meticulously codes on their
own, but takes weeks(months) to finish and presents you with an
application that needs extensive testing of ALL functionality. Or the
programmer that produces the application in record time using previously
tested methods and modules requiring only high end testing of the app?
Seems you taking a limited view of the discussion in you opposition to the
concept of code reuse.
