Re: Cover letter feedback
Wouldn't this be the perfect opportunity to use the T Letter?
http://www.raycomm.com/techwhirl/employmentarticles/tletter.html
I have used the T-letter on many occasions, and have recommended it to others. Two days ago, my son applied for a programming job. His cover letter was a straight T-letter, which went on for two pages due to the complexity of the job. He just received this response:
"Thank you for your impressive reply to our job opening, we were impressed by the time and effort you put into the response.
We are very interesting in following-up with you and I have asked ...... , our Director of Technology to contact you and set-up a phone screening to learn more about you and to tell you more about our company.
You should hear from him later today."
Yes, T-letters work! They don't guarantee a job, but they sure improve the ratio of interviews/applications.
