No it isn't. Anecdotal means you heard it from someone else. Practical
experience means you saw it for yourself.

The conventions of a craft are established when practical practitioners,
people who have seen for themselves, record their findings and discuss it
with their peers until a broad consensus is reached. This is also the way
that scientists arrive at conclusions. Different types of questions require
different types of investigation and analysis, but collegiality is key to
establishing reliable norms in all areas of investigation.
