Michael Bremer, who has written a couple of books on tech writing, used to
work for Maxis Software, makers of the Sims series. Reportedly, 70% of their
users read the documentation, which is amazingly high for any software, but
especially for games.

According to the Author's Note on Amazon, this book contains contact info
for Bremer.
Keep in mind that, as a work environment, computer gaming combines the worst
aspects of the software and entertainment industries, because so many people
want to work in it, and a few products are smash hits, but most fail in the
market. Hence, long hours, high stress, mediocre pay except for a few
"stars" (who do not include writers), and unstable employment.
