Okay, so I was confused about WHO would have to do the work of changing
servers, but my main point still seems relevant; I would be most
agreeable to a solution that requires the least amount of trouble and
expense on my part, and I'm guessing lots of other folks feel the same
way. If I have to go to the trouble of resubscrbing, putting a new
address in my address book, etc, that's going to be a deterrent. Also,
if I have t lay out a hefty fee to continue to be a member, that's going
to be a deterrent. Something like $20/year wouldn't be a big deal, but
$20 a MONTH might be a problem.

However, please note that I said these things would be DETERRENTS. I
DID NOT say I'd definitely drop out if they became the case. I'm just
telling you what my PREFERENCE would be.

David,

It is immaterial from that standpoint whether it stays on the same
server or one elsewhere. A relatively simple transition involving a
change in DNS registration and the same email address, same web address,
etc. would be maintained.

Thus, no need to worry about that point...unless there is a failure to
arrive at a reasonable resolution of the ownership question and/or
someone starts a competing resource.

Let's focus on the most significant points...one of which is to
determine how far apart a realistic pricing might be from Eric and
Deborah's expectations--and if a plan can be advanced to which they may
agree. Mechanical details such as "what server"--while they must
obviously be included--are relatively trivial in the grand scheme of
things.

Well, if it's possible to keep running the list on the same server, I'd
vote for a solution that lets that happens, since it wouldn't require
all current subscribers to relocate and resubscribe.
