Um, my team is totally emmersed in that "level we really do not care
about" and it's made a world of difference in the quality of the
documentation we release, according to customer feedback, internal
feedback, and self evaluations.

You may not care about it, and you may be happy to live with knowing
"what" and not "how", but please, let's not generalize these "happy
places" as places where we all want to or feel we should be.
