Felice said, "I am a pharmaceutical tech writer, normally doing software
validation and testing..."
This is precisely what I do, as well. I gather requirements, then oversee
the validation and testing of software products in a biotech lab. Almost
nothing that I work on ever leaves the physical confines of our building.
My education is in mathematics. I came into this field with absolutely no
medical background, except that I once changed cat litter boxes in a
genetics research lab back in the early 1970's.
I don't know that any particular degree will make a person better suited for
this type of work; what is needed is a little logical thinking and common
sense.
By the way, I work in Seattle -- another hotbed of biotechs. The drug we
all hate -- Cia**s (gotta get past those spam filters...) was invented right
down the road from here!
